The aged care system can be confusing, so here are a few easy steps to follow.
To move into a residential aged care home, or access respite care, you will need to have an assessment with My Aged Care’s Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT). My Aged Care is the Australian Government’s starting point for all aged care services.
Step 1 - Contact My Aged Care
Call My Aged Care on 1800 200 422 or visit their website and ask for an Aged Care
Assessment. You will need your Medicare number and concession card (if you have one).
Step 2 – Contact Us
After the assessment, My Aged Care will let you know if you have been approved for residential aged care and will give you a referral code.
It’s then time to call Vanessa for Aegean Village at Christie Downs enquiries on 0421 973 775 or Olga for Croydon Park/St Peters enquiries on 0421 977 087, or email welcome@stbasils.com.au. You can discuss arranging a tour of your preferred St Basil’s home too.
Step 3 – Apply to Live with Us
If you decide to apply to live with us, we will send you an application pack to complete with several forms that you will need to complete and return to us.
When you have been accepted for a room, our staff will meet with you or a representative to go through and sign the Residential Agreement.
Step 4 – Move into your new home
