📚❤️ Happy Book Week! ❤️📚
Today on this beautiful, sunny winter day our residents at St Peters were delighted to once again welcome the students from @eastadelaideschool for a colourful Book Week parade through our grounds.
There was plenty of excitement, smiles and laughs as students proudly showcased their costumes, bringing some of their favourite book characters to life. Moments like these remind us of the power of storytelling to connect people of all ages.
Intergenerational experiences such as this are incredibly valuable. They foster understanding, build meaningful relationships and create opportunities for young and older generations to learn from one another. As neighbours, we are grateful to share these special moments and strengthen the bonds within our local community.
A heartfelt thank you to the students and staff of East Adelaide School for bringing so much joy to our residents and for being such wonderful neighbours. We look forward to welcoming you back again next year! ...

We got some mail from The King! 👑
Our wonderful residents at St Peters sent His Majesty a birthday card… and we were absolutely delighted to receive a letter of thanks from Buckingham Palace in return!
We may not have received a knighthood (yet 😉), but we’re certainly feeling a little bit royal today! 👑✨

Today, we celebrate the extraordinary people who make aged care more than a service. You make it a community, a home, and a place where older people can continue to live well.
We are incredibly proud to share that St Basil’s Homes (SA) has been named the Winner of the 2026 Ageing Australia You Are ACE! Award for Organisation Excellence in recognition of our Living Well Model of Care.
Our Living Well Model is a research-informed, co-designed approach that empowers residents to continue living well, their way, by fostering independence, meaningful relationships, personal choice and a genuine sense of belonging. Developed with residents, families, staff and research partners, it reimagines aged care by placing people, not tasks, at the centre of everyday life.
This achievement belongs to every member of our team and the residents, families, volunteers and partners who support our mission every day.
